Meet marsha & Mooney
Marsha is an engineer, the wife of another engineer, aunt to an amazing nephew and niece, and mother to a variety of furry kids–currently a golden retriever, Mooney.
Marsha also has a passion for learning. Her instructional excellence teachers have included her dogs, some world-class dog trainers, and two amazing professors from U. C.’s Teacher’s College–Ted Fowler and Glenn Markle.
While working with Ted and Glenn to rejuvenate GE Aviation’s Advanced Course in Engineering, she rediscovered her joy of learning and went on to complete a Ph.D. in materials engineering at the University of Dayton.
Her passion is helping kids succeed in STEM-science, technology, engineering, math. She writes books because stories change attitudes, and develops STEM experiments you can do at home because there’s nothing like learning by doing!
Marsha’s STEM experiment work with Girl Scouts of Western Ohio and GE Volunteers has been recognized with the Girl Scouts Appreciation Pin, the 2018 GE Volunteers Award, and the 2021 GE Aviation Outstanding Retiree Award.
